4ESO. Unit 2: Disasters







In this unit, we will talk about disasters, we will learn how to react on case of experiencing one and we'll read some bews and write one. We'll alse prepare an awarenes campaign. Ready? 

As always, Workbook unit 2 must be finished by the day of the exam, and irregular verbs (end of Workbook) learnt by then too!

POWERPOINT:

1) VOCABULARY: images + types of disaster (natural / human...) x 12

  • landslide, earthquake, flooding, ...
  • boat capsizing, car crash, spaceship fail, ...

2) READING: search, copy and paste a current piece of news about a disaster.

 Find the 6w: what / who / when / where and then how and why. Does it follow the inverted pyramid?

4ESO: Articles about accidents/disasters


Large avalanche on the Pic Baix del Cubil at the ski area of Grau Roig in Andorra on 28th of February, 2015. Triggered from a helicopter explosive drop during control work.

Andorra is a country ready for snow accidents but sometimes natural disasters can become overwhelming, that is why prevention is the key! In this video you can watch a measure they took to avoid a catastrophe.
